Well, that was some good news! Leo's blood work came back normal - which makes me feel a lot better about that lump. It may well just be from all the flea bites - yeah, he apparently has a flea allergy, and despite having his collar, he still gets bit by fleas (they just don't stick around too long, apparently, because I don't see them on him, nor on me or the cat... ) and he has a terrible reaction. He also doesn't have heartworm, which is really what I've been stressing about over the past week.
So that's all good, because it's a hiking weekend! This time, it's a new hike in a new hiking spot. The spot is the Deleware Water Gap, and this specific hike is the Sunfish Pond hike. This should be cool - first, it's a brand new spot, and second, the Pond is one of New Jersey's natural wonders. The plan is to do some hiking, and to take some food and make charcoal-grilled burgers in the picnic area after the hike. So, instead of avoiding the traffic on a holiday weekend, we're going in to the teeth of it. But, it should be fun.
Also, take your heartworm medicine!
