Chemo #3

It looks like Tuesday/Wednesday is the bad day for Leo - he's fine with me, but he is definitely not the best with Lisa.  Aside from a bit of the poops, tho', he's been pretty good. Although it seems he reacts to diuretics like I do...
Granted, he's with me all day Saturday and Sunday, and with Lisa on Monday and Tuesday by early afternoon.  The guy's getting all kinds of attention - actually, he seems to be getting used to the vet.  It's definitely not a "bad" place on his radar, which is a good thing.  This treatment was one that necessitates a diuretic when taken to prevent (or at least minimize) bladder toxicity.
Side note - seriously, all of this stuff has side effects.  Today's is bladder toxicity.  In two weeks, it's heart problems.  All of it is rather toxic, but then again, it's all less toxic than cancer, I guess...
Anyway, Leo needed a bit of a walk after today's treatment - the diuretic kicks in right about when it's time to leave.  And boy, did it ever. We went for a walk to make sure he could get back in to car without problems.  And we walked, waiting for it to kick in.  And then - wow.  Seriously, every tree.  Every bush.  Every fire hydrant (yes, he's a cliche).  And for the next hour, we had a lovely walk watering half the trees in Cobble Hill.
The fascinating part is this - despite having been here only a handful of times (5? 6 now?), and despite the car not being parked right in front of the vet's office, Leo can take me to the car from just about anywhere.  5 blocks away, in a strange neighborhood where we've been wandering for the better part of an hour, and all I had to tell him was "to the car".  And, while we sauntered and wandered a bit, Leo led me pretty quickly back to the vet's office, and from there a half block to the car.  And I think he knows which car is mine.  My smart boy.
