So now we're in round 2 of chemo, and Leo's been happy and healthy. Which is great! He's responded well and his bloodwork looked good. In fact, we were almost done with the second round chemo - the same as the first round, again.
However, before the last dose (, which is the stuff that makes him the sickest and has the highest risk of really bad side effects), his blood work showed low white blood cell counts - 1800. So, it means no chemo until Saturday, and hopefully his WBC increases to normal, or close to it. We're not in danger, but he is a little immunosuppressed.
This makes L a little nervous about the planned trip.
Oh, right, the trip - I had been planning a road-trip with Leo as my co-pilot. My friend is getting married in Ouray, Colorado in July, and it seemed like a perfect time to take the chemo-boy and go out an about for a few. Here was our itinerary, as of last weekend:

Unfortunately, some circumstances beyond our control are going to prevent this long trip from happening. More on that later.
