Leo had been acting a bit funny over the past few days - a little grouchier, a little more particular than usual. And a lot naughtier outside. We were concerned - a change in personality is one of the first indications that something is wrong. We had both taken to checking his lymph nodes every day - hoping to not feel anything, but expecting the worst. He had a checkup on Thursday (10/25). I was nervous - I did not want to have bad news.
Leo had no problem going in to the vet - it was like nothing bad had ever happened there. I, however, was less happy about this, all things considered. All the worrying was for nothing - Dr. Cohen couldn't even feel his lymph nodes. They took blood (really expensive blood, I might add!) and gave us a good report, and said they'd call with the results.
3 days later, and no call.
Finally, on Monday, in the shadow of the hurricane and all of the storm preparations, we got the call: Leo has the bloodwork of a puppy! All clear, all good - and some good news.
And of course, he was completely unphased by this hurricane business. But he's gotten some extra treats this week, and we don't have to go back for another 8 weeks.
And now on to the business of helping out those in need, and at the same time, moving!
