It appears that the L-spar is no longer working. That means that the Vincristine stopped working, the L-spar stopped working, the cytocin would kill him...and now it's down to the rescue therapy, the Lomustine.
I hope nothing goes terribly wrong before our appointment on Thursday, but his nodes have swollen terribly. The one on his right feels like it has it's own swollen lymph node! I would like to avoid the massive doses of prednisone that we would need to give him.
I was also thinking about his life. We were Leo's 3rd home. We have no idea how his first two homes were - good, bad, tragic or criminal. We have surmised he was heavily chastised for having accidents in the house (he looks very guilty the few times it's happened). It's apparent that he was never really trained before we adopted him. And for the last 5 years, he's had 2 homes - mine and L's, and has seemed to have no problem going back and forth. In fact, it seems like he likes the changes of pace. He's a very resilient dog.
When people adopt out dogs and cats, they talk about finding them their "forever" home. The homes that we gave to Leo are his forever home. I hope these homes have been good for him. I only wish that he could be my forever dog.
